I went to Marrakech in search of magic

In surfing, glassy describes perfect conditions; when there’s no wind or chop, and instead the surface of the water—waves and all—is smooth as glass. It’s easy, it’s effortless, it’s ideal.

Terminal Intelligence: CLT

Turmeric tonics and vegan sushi rolls past security? Yes please.

Welcome to Terminal Intelligence. Because friends don’t let friends get stuck at the airport without any decent healthy options.

This week we’re taking off from: CLT in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Overall: Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is no JFK, but it is a major East Coast player (it's the sixth busiest airport in the US, not to mention American Airline's second largest hub stateside). And for a mid-range city, you'll find just enough options to keep you satisfied. When in doubt, head to 1879 Market, which has an entire "Eat Well" section. Plus, there's now a Minute Suites in the airport for pre-flight napping.

I need breakfast: Hit up 1897 Market and grab a Paleo lunch box (yes, the word "Paleo" is actually printed on the label). There's also a Starbucks (natch) if caffeine—or oatmeal—is more your speed.

I need a snack: 1897 Market has a decent range of fresh fruit, along with buzzy healthy packaged options (Bare apple chips, Rhythm kale chips, Soul Sprout snack bars, Kevita kombuchas, Temple Turmeric shots, Endangered Species dark chocolate...).

I need a real meal: Head to Hissho Sushi to grab a roll or two (they've got the usual suspects, like tuna-avocado, along with vegetarian-friendly options), or sit down at Beaudevin for a salad and a glass of wine (or two...).

I forgot something at home: You can pick up the basics (Tylenol, tissues, tampons) at the magazine spots dotting the airport, but don't expect to find your fave all-natural hand sanitizer or go-to supplements.

I need to fill up my water bottle: You're in luck, since there are water bottle filling stations throughout the airport.
