Terminal Intelligence: JFK Terminal 1
Yes, you can pick up maqui powder and COQ10 supplements past security.
Welcome to Terminal Intelligence. Because friends don’t let friends get stuck at the airport without any decent healthy options.
This week we’re taking off from: JFK Terminal 1
Overall: Everything but actual food (if you've got your credit card at the ready).
I need breakfast: Your best (only?) decent option is Starbucks—but it's before security, so get that oatmeal to go.
I need a snack: The Hudson News has boosted its offerings, so you can now pick up raw almonds, Peeled fruit bites, Biena crunchy chickpeas, or an Rx bar along with your New Yorker.
I need a real meal: BYO if you can—otherwise, your options if you're in a rush are Eat & Go Istanbul, which is meat-, gluten-, and dairy-heavy, but does have a spinach gozleme made with just six ingredients. If you've got time to sit down, try the Mediterranean platter or veggie burger at Martini Bar.
I forgot something at home: This terminal has arguably the best airport option for when you've forgotten your supplements or chemical-free beauty products, via Yes All—a kiosk that has everything from Garden of Eden Raw Code vitamins and Navitas maqui powder to Desert Essence shampoo and Kiss my Face sunscreen (although expect to pay waaay more than you would at your local Whole Foods).
I need to relax: You'll find the omnipresent XpresSpa in not one but two spots within the terminal (one's a shop, the other's more of a kiosk).
