I went to Marrakech in search of magic

In surfing, glassy describes perfect conditions; when there’s no wind or chop, and instead the surface of the water—waves and all—is smooth as glass. It’s easy, it’s effortless, it’s ideal.

Terminal Intelligence: LGA Terminal D

Finally: cold brew and matcha lattes past security.

by Clark Williams | 03.20.2018

Welcome to Terminal Intelligence. Because friends don’t let friends get stuck at the airport without any decent healthy options.

This week we’re taking off from: LGA Terminal D

Overall: There are options, if you don't mind the terminal-side upcharge (or wait).

I need breakfast: The Cibo Express Market just past security has stacks of oatmeal cups—both the usual Quaker Oats as well as a chia seed-packed Dr. McDougall's—and fresh fruit if you're in a rush.

Have time to linger? By night Michael Lomonaco's Prime Tavern serves up filet mignon and kobe burgers, but by morning you'll find options like build-your-own omelettes and acai bowls. Oh, and news flash: You can order cold brew and matcha lattes at the World Bean in the food court.

I need a snack: The food court right past security is kind of ridiculous (in a good way): From Rhythm kale chips to Pipcorn to what we've lovingly dubbed the Wall of Jerky, there are loads of healthier grab-and-go alternatives. If the line is looking long, go around the corner to Bisoux Market, which stocks Tio gazpacho drinks, Oloves olives, and more savory options.

I need a real meal: If you can get over your aversion to salad bars in public places, the food court has a per-pound section with the usual suspects (shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, chopped broccoli) plus a range of prepared salads to load up your container with. Otherwise Bisoux Market has a few salad options (baby kale, chef's salad) that are fresher than average.

Wielding a corporate card and have time to kill? Both Prime Tavern and Bisoux have decent options—the former with a cedar plank organic salmon and beet salad, the latter with a roast chicken and avocado vinaigrette appetizer.

I forgot something at home: You might just need to wait until you arrive at your destination—there aren't many options in this terminal for loading up on supplements or all-natural toiletries.

I need to fill up my water bottle: There are two bottle fill stations within the terminal.
